The Chairman of the Georgian Dream, Irakli Kobakhidze, said at a party office briefing that Charles Michel Agreement had expired and that it had been annulled. Members of the Political Council and the Prime Minister, Irakli Garibashvili, stood by him during the announcement.

"The unilateral adherence to the April 19 agreement is offensive to our party and our voters will not forgive us such unprincipled approach. The April 19 agreement played a positive role in the development of political processes in the short term. It fulfilled its mission and exhausted itself," - Kobakhidze said.

The Georgian Dream refuses to hold snap elections if they get less than 43% at the 2021 municipal elections, which was one of the points of Charles Michel Agreement. The appointment of early elections will depend on their good will.

According to Kobakhidze, the annulment of the agreement will return the country to the "constitutional framework":

"We are ready, in our good will, to call snap elections not only if we get 43 percent of the vote, but also if we get 53 percent, if we learn from the behavior of opposition political parties that our political system is ripe for effective coalition government and such a regime will not harm its interests. Extraordinary elections will be called by our good will, in accordance with the constitutional practice established in developed European democracies."
