European politicians and public figures issued a joint public letter to leadership of the European Union to press the Georgian Government to release Georgia's former imprisoned President Mikheil Saakashvili from prison. The signatories include former Swedish PM Karl Bildt, former President of Ukraine Vyktor Yushchenko, former President of Latvia Valdis Zatlers, Russian opposition leader Vladimir Kara Murza, former US Army Commander in Europe Gen Ben Hodges, 72 members of European Parliament, Seimas of Lithuania and others.
