International Republican Institute (IRI) released public opinion survey, which was conducted in June 15-30. The sample consisted of 1,500 residents of Georgia aged 18 and older and eligible to vote. It is representative of the general population by age, gender, region and settlement size. The margin of error does not exceed +/-2.5%.
Below are some findings pertaining to the upcoming municipal elections.
- 89% of the interviewees replied that they are likely to vote in the October 2021 municipal elections;
- 52% suggested that the elections will be free and fair;
- 51% supported the opposition demand for snap parliamentary elections in Georgia.
If the October 2021 municipal elections were held this coming Sunday, for which party would you vote?
- Georgian Dream – 26% as the first choice, 4% as the second choice;
- United National Movement – 14% as the first choice, 3% as the second choice;
- For Georgia - Giorgi Gakharia – 9% as the first choice, 8% as the second choice;
Which parties, if any, would you not vote for under any circumstances?
- United National Movement – 30%
- Georgian Dream – 24%
- Girchi – 10%
