According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri, the Georgian Dream has taken political responsibility for the violent events of July 5-6, which should be reflected in the punishment of the perpetrators.

"We and our team have taken political responsibility. The political responsibility, first of all, I think is to punish all those who committed violence against journalists, policemen and several other citizens. If you mean resignation, we have the Prime Minister, the political council, there is the political team that has to make a decision - whether I should resign, or not. If the team decides to resign, of course, I will obey the team 's decision," - Gomelauri said.

The "March of Honor" was to be held on July 5, organized by Tbilisi Pride. The Patriarchate announced the counter demonstration on this very day.

Rustaveli Avenue has been occupied by violent homophobes since the morning of July 5, which is why Tbilisi Pride canceled the march. Participants of demonstration, organized by the Patriarchate and violent groups abused media representatives and other citizens.

A total of 53 media representatives were injured in the rally, including Lekso Lashkarava, a TV first cameraman who died on July 11.

Following the death of a colleague, the media launched a campaign, demanding the resignation of the Prime-Minister Garibashvili as an instigator of violence; resignation of the Minister of Internal Affairs, who failed to ensure the safety of journalists during the violent rally and punishment of the organizers of the violent rally, as well as the perpetrators.
