A source in the Georgian Police has forwarded Formula TV evidence proving current Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri, head of the Special State Protection Service Anzor Chubinidze and several individuals raided the home of a teenager and threatened to kill him upon orders of Bera Ivanishvili, Bidzina Ivanishvili’s son 12 years ago.

The evidence constitutes a two-hour video footage of the teenager’s questioning at the Police in which the then-school pupil describes in detail the incident which involved unlawful intrusion into his parents’ home, forceful examination of his electronic devices and forced him to apologize to Bera Ivanishvili through a phone call after threatening to shoot him.

Bera Ivanishvili initiated the punitive operation due to the teenager’s critical post on Facebook below Mr Ivanishvili’s video.

According to the evidence, Georgia’s current PM Irakli Garibashvili – Bera’s producer at the time of the incident – is one of the key individuals in the incident.

A phone conversation between Mr Garibashvili and Bera Ivanishvili on the incident was leaked by TV Pirveli in December 2022.

Neither Mr Garibashvili, nor Bera denied the conversation ever took place, but said it was illegally obtained and words were misinterpreted.

The teenager’s testimony to the Police demonstrates the threat to take his life came from Mr Garibashvili.

The video recording of the interrogation also shows the teenager’s father attending the questioning at the Police station.

The testimony as well as the leaked audio files of the conversation between Bera and Mr Garibashvili prove the teenager was contacted from a Facebook page Dedis Simphonia – managed by Mr Garibashvili himself - threatening to shoot him.

Mr Chubinidze has confirmed visiting the teenager in his home but does not wish to recall all details.

“I don’t remember the name. I publicly clarified this on Imedi – I did not abuse or threaten anyone,” Chubinidze tells Formula on Saturday.

While not specifying accompanying individuals, Mr Chubinidze admits he did not act alone.
