Archil Khopheria, father of Jambul Khoperia killed near Bakhmut on December 3 slammed PM Irakli Garibashvili following his statement that Georgians fighting in Ukraine are being tricked there “by the party of war and traitors, seeking provocations.”

“The party of war and traitors, since the start of the war in Ukraine, is trying to stage certain provocations. They organized this one too, representatives of the party of war are taking our citizens to Ukraine,” Irakli Garibashvili said.

“Nothing can hurt me any longer, including senseless words, but simply leader of the nation has an obligation to think more every word… I did not want to say but you must know that my son, when the war started, was in war Munich. He called me at 9am and told me he was going… I asked him to wait for me in Warsaw but he did not wait there, he went straight into Kyiv which the whole world predicted to fall and its defender to perish. He was not taken there by anyone. We are worthy people. He felt obligation of manhood and had his way which to which he adhered to the end,” Archil Khoperia wrote on Facebook.

Total of 33 Georgian volunteer fighters have died in Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-fledged invasion on February 24.
